community means more growth, better content and way more fun. Enter the Vic podcasters, your podcasting family. Why podcasting alone is harder. The reason I started Vic podcast is because I found myself being so lonely when creating and listening to my favourite podcasts. Sure, there were communities that were national or even international, but a lot of those people were based in the States or in the UK or even in South Africa, and I didn't feel that close to them, even though we all shared a common interest, podcasting alone is harder because there's no one to bounce ideas off. It's just you and the void, it's harder to stay motivated, because, well, accountability matters, and yes, your audience may be there, but it may not be as substantial as you would like, and you can feel a bit disheartened. And podcasting is a slow growth game, especially when you don't have connections or the ability to network with other podcasters, which is key. What does Vic podcasters bring to the table? Well, as you're listening to we have a weekly podcast of quick tips and updates in less than five minutes an episode. We also provide regular Q and A sessions where we answer questions people have asked in the podcasting community, we have collaboration opportunities for guests, partnerships and other opportunities within the groups. There is also regular updates of industry news and events about podcasting, so you can stay in the know, and you can also implement these things as they come up. We have a lot of reports that we come across that are actually quite useful, and that's why I share them on the Vic podcasters. There is also something that a lot of people have asked for, but I only just figured out how to do is providing information about Victorian based grants for podcasters, because podcasting doesn't necessarily give you money or isn't necessarily a job, but I'll tell you now, grants are incredibly useful and helpful. When being able to support yourself and maybe investing in new equipment or some training, whatever you need, there will hopefully be a grant that can help you.

To the show notes in this episode for details that you'll need to dive deeper into Victoria's podcasting community. Vic podcasters would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the wadawurrung people of the Kulin nation, the traditional custodians on the land on which we work, live and play. We pay our respects to our elders past and present. We stand with the traditional custodians in these lands and working towards a more equal future. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land and hey, don't forget, podcasting is better with mates.
