028 Personal Brand vs Business Brand Explained
Ever wondered where ‘you’ end and your business begins? Together we tackle the real (and slightly messy) difference between your own personal brand and your business brand, and why knowing that line matters.
Quirky Quiz Time 🥳
What’s the main difference between a personal brand and a business brand?
A. Personal brands don’t need logos
B. Business brands have more followers
C. Personal brands reflect your values and lived experience
-
Answer: C. Personal brands reflect your values and lived experience - because you can always leave a business but you can’t leave yourself 😉
028 Personal Brand vs Business Brand Explained
Understanding the differences between your personal and business branding is key to growing your projects online without losing yourself in the process. Learn how to align your values, message, and mission so both you and your business can achieve more than the sum of your parts.
Building a personal brand means showing up as yourself! Showing your warts, your wins, and sometimes your Spotify shame and all that. I break down why your personal brand isn’t just a logo or a job title, but an ongoing reflection of your message/story, values, and your purpose. And just like your taste in music, it can evolve without needing to start from scratch.
One of the juiciest parts? 👀 The bit about shifting from personal brand to business brand (or vice versa) without wiping out like a bad surfer 🏄. Whether you're pivoting careers, refining your message, or just sick of feeling like your Instagram bio doesn’t fit anymore. This livestream will give you the green light to change... Without needing a giant “I’m back!” campaign. Or god forbid, ghosting them forever 👻
Your audience deserves to grow with you, not be left behind. And you don’t need to burn everything down to do it. I share how to align your branding updates with your values and messaging in a way that feels both natural and strategic. (Warning a little bit of math ahead 🧮.)
Think vibes + vision + a splash of audacity.

where you look back
And sometimes you have slumps
wildly changing.
changing each year,
It's more like a Spotify wrapped
is not a one-hit wonder.
Your personal brand
may shift and change over time.
and aesthetics of your brand
No matter how the visual shifts
guide your messaging.
You can let those
that can help anchor you.
and your business brand,
for yourself and your brand
value and vision is
what those mission,
to articulate in a couple of sentences even
and once you have been able
But once you have decided
and remind yourself on these things.
and write things down
workshop this a little bit
And you might need to
and clearly articulate?
that you can clearly say
What are the things
Where does that work for you?
where the work that I do fits in.
That's where ultimately
and have people be seen.
and build connection
that I can be authentic
and my marketing
that both in myself
And I want to be able to anchor
with my values.
I want to build consistency
both online and in person.
but in the work that I do
in this podcast,
not just the work that I provide
hopefully you're seeing that
And hopefully,
is what I'm trying to achieve.
and my vision and my mission
you understand that my value
But by the token of that,
as to each one of those things.
I can go into much greater detail
Now, of course,
accountability, and kindness.
honesty, innovation,
growth, inclusivity,
My values are authenticity,
and grow their video presence.
as they build their confidence
and walk alongside my clients
I want to coach and inspire
or to achieve their goals.
to shine on screen
the tools, support they need
is to give my clients
is to lead by example,
which is my action to take,
And my mission,
what I want from a vision.
but that very much captures
that's a little bit poetic,
Now, of course,
in every frame.
and share their true selves
for our clients
I want to light the way
authentic video storytellers.
helping them become bold,
for my clients,
is to be the go-to guide
my vision as it currently stands
But say, for example,
off the top of my head.
I just don't remember
about once or twice a week.
I look at this around
and vision,
so for my mission values
So for my vision,
So back to it.
So I review this.
That is smart.
Vision, mission and values.
There we go.
Where did I put?
No, we are not shocked at all.
Not really.
Are we shocked?
And then I don't.
where to find this, Zoe.
you will remember
in places thinking
where I've put things
that I've done the thing
There is a high possibility
Where have I put my own things?
need to see mine every day.
because I don't necessarily
and look up my own core values
is go through my own system
What I can even do now
to support you.
of those core values behind you
You need an understanding
at the end of the day.
But they're just words
by AI and have a list provided to you.
that you can Google or search
as like a various list of values
can be something as simple
Now, these core values
because those core values anchor you.
on core values
I actually had to focus
from a vibe shift,
that instead of just moving
It became very clear
when working with marketing and brands.
on my aesthetics a lot more
I had a tendency of leaning
and who is very much self-taught,
in marketing the whole lives
As someone who has worked
not just my aesthetic.
through my values,
to actually build consistency
It took me a long time
I was very messy too.
and for a very long time,
Like I said, it's a bit messy
when it comes to your personal branding.
the be all and end all
that your message has to be
Now, again, I'm not saying
and ultimately chosen your message.
when you have decided
and are great fans of you
and serve you
of people who love you
and cultivate another community
You will grow
You will develop.
so be it.
But if you need to do that,
and say f off and then move on.
that you need to burn all your bridges
Now, I'm not saying
for people up into that point.
or the problem that you've been solving
with whatever you've been focusing
You're fed up
or maybe you've just burnt yourself out.
within your own personal life
either a personal situation
it is usually because of
within their personal brand,
to making very dramatic changes
most people when it comes
to be honest,
and if you're making this change,
that you are making this change
and you need to show people
They need to grow organically
because they will never be.
to be finished
You don't wait for things
but you take action as you evolve.
Not just with the message,
that you back it up.
and you make sure
You change your Instagram handle
You update a post.
You start small.
or insert other current popular artist.
like your Beyonce
a big dramatic reveal
You don't need
but cute nonetheless.
like mine,
Something not necessarily cute
and a cute outfit.
is just procrastination
because perfection
It's okay for it not to be perfect
multiple times.
the whole process myself
and I have gone through
that haven't been very perfect
I have conducted a fair few myself
not to have a perfect rebrand.
It is okay
sprinkling throughout the universe.
their personal brand ends up
and where wherever
but in person
Not just online,
they present themselves.
when it comes to how
like change their mind
Like being able to change and
when it comes to the public.
that they have to be perfect
feeling a little bit self-conscious
can sometimes leave people
and see how you're changing and evolving
can see this
or maybe even your current colleagues
and also like your ex-colleagues
your aunt,
your friends, your nan,
where everyone, your family,
especially in public,
and when it comes to evolving it,
to your personal brand
That when it comes
Which goes on to my next point.
to be perfect to do so.
and not having it
build their personal brands
Helping people
and strategic direction.
is in marketing
But most of my effort and focus
that I am continuing to use.
But I have those skills
because they're a lot of energy and effort.
three to four times a year
I only do those like
Keeping in mind,
for those larger clients.
that director,
But I also am that producer,
I help out with the editing.
And depending on the project,
like videography work.
And now I no longer do the physical
I became the video confidence coach.
So that's what I did.
in the first place.
of why they're using video
and direction
They wanted a strategic understanding
They wanted a problem solved.
they just didn't want just a video.
Because when people came to me,
for the problem that I'm solving.
and push my understanding
but to be able to push with my values
and well, not just provide their services,
I have been able to utilize that
But in time,
and still very weird.
it was still very messy
of my own personal brand,
a little bit unclear
kind of when I was still
And yes, the video confidence coach
still asking for my videography skills.
that I get a lot of people
But I still find myself
kind of under control now.
I've slowly gotten them back,
my hands shook like crazy.
for a very long time,
and couldn't,
And then I went through cancer treatment
a videography company since I was 14.
I was someone who ran
I am very much myself in that respect.
That is okay.
to physically do it anymore.
or they may not be able
or wherever the hell they were,
make it out to the oil rigs
because they aren't able to say,
in the career that they were before
who I know who can no longer work
And there's plenty of people
when it comes to themselves.
But hey, everyone has their different feelings
or your stability.
for your psyche
I don't think that would be great
Sure, whatever.
every five to 10 years.
So you could change your career
helps you with that personal branding.
but beyond you
that is not just inside you
to have a motivating factor
and as the Simon Sinek people would say,
He knew his why,
of why he was put on this earth.
he knew his core understanding
he knew his values,
Because he knew his message,
Why?
relatively easily and smoothly.
And he was able to do that
to that problem, let's say.
but providing that answer
not dragging people,
from just dragging,
and then he got a fair few clientele
It actually got them thinking
I serve people this way.
I don't do that anymore.
He says,
who reached out to him for chefing.
there was plenty of people
and actually,
to use that messaging
that they were able
But making sure
obviously they're not going to do that.
So when people ask for it,
I am no longer a chef.
that yes, I was a chef,
he was able to clearly articulate
But in that transition,
once or twice a year.
like you would say
in any sort of update
that you would usually do
all of that stuff
their messaging,
their tones of voice,
their colour palettes,
their bios, their photos,
they made sure to update
well, first of all,
because they were able,
in their current career
and use it effectively
to be able to use it
in their chef career
and the problems they had solved
and what they had gained
the knowledge
but they were able to use
slowly over time,
move their personal brands
they were able to obviously
And with that in mind,
and leadership coaching.
are now their actual executive
their previous chef clients
are now,
a lot of their previous clients
and turns out
but actually it worked really well
to a different personal brand,
like a very large swing
Now, that may seem
and executive coaching.
into leadership
So then they pivoted from that
was no longer worth it.
and also just the whims of their clientele
that the pressure
and they just found
who are very expensive
for rich, rich, toy people
Used to be a personal chef
used to be a chef.
For example, one that comes to mind
that I work with.
there are plenty of people
that you stick with it,
when you pick a niche
because when, not necessarily
and also yourself
of your brand
very, like, core parts
You're not changing
your foundational ethos.
You're not changing
you're not changing your message.
because most of the time
what I recommend for most people
once a year is usually
to be honest,
maybe like once or twice a year,
Maybe updating these
anywhere that is representing you.
your website,
on your social media platforms,
that you have either
So these are the small biographies
just checking in with your bios.
four times a year,
Maybe like, you know,
every single month.
to completely change yourself
I'm not saying that you need
when you are not that now.
hardthrob in your mid-20s
and you are not the 80s
or they see you out and about
or they see video of you
or they see photos of you
to work with you
And when people come
That is older than me.
I was born in the 90s.
headshots from the 80s.
like, they've been using
that they've said,
where I've mentioned
with a couple of clients
And I've had this
overwhelm yourself.
like, for example,
or that you have to,
everything every month
that you have to rebrand
And it doesn't mean
it's time for a refresh.
But if it's giving 2020 vibes,
in the past.
may have served you well
that old Canva PDF template
the old Canva template,
And yes,
What you put out publicly.
is ultimately a reflection of you.
your personal brand
Because, let me say it again,
should do the same too.
your personal brand
in your language,
and your feel
If you update your look
should do the same.
your personal brand
which in turn,
and evolve as a person,
You are allowed to grow
the stuff that you like now.
is not necessarily
when you were 12 or 13
like the stuff that you liked
on the internet,
For people that grew up
chance that you did.
but I'm sure there's a high
I mean, I didn't,
who grew up with the internet.
especially for those of us
when you are 12 or 13,
who you follow
We're not everyone
that gets a version of you.
for one more crew
They can make room
but also just their day-to-day lives.
reputation,
personal branding journeys,
through their own
to evolve and change with you
your audience to grow with you,
And also, you're not trusting
in that respect.
to your audience
you're not listening
Then, well, first of all,
down from the old old school.
I'm talking like
And I'm not talking cool old school.
or just, frankly, old school.
to push seems outdated
and what you're trying
with them anymore
does not resonate
And if your message
it probably isn't.
doesn't feel like you anymore,
If your content
on the back burner.
or you're doing it
feeling it anymore
when you're not really
and they can tell
when you're phoning it in
They can tell
They're not dum-dums.
is smarter than you think.
around your personal brand
that you are growing
the community
Your audience,
Oops.
that I've already said that.
I just realized
not perfection.
and relate to growth,
to evolve publicly
giving yourself permission
When it comes to your personal brand,
Let me get back to the point, sorry.
that we're in right now.
especially in the world
we always need money for things,
because, well,
and also funds and money
both attention to it
that I can draw
I want to make sure
And in those opportunities,
as much as I can.
but I help the community
I'm not indigenous myself,
I volunteer and help out with,
in Geelong, for example.
down on a water-run country
down here in,
with a water-run co-op
that I do
but any say volunteering
Vic Podcasters,
that are maybe not necessarily
for projects
or acquiring income
with acquiring money
that also helps
or any funding,
And if I need any grants
as time comes.
or helps sell the project
gets people on board
they can deal,
and if not,
hopefully positive,
and my reputation,
is imbued into the membership
my personal brand
That in turn,
It's a Zoe Wood project.
So it's more of a me project.
but not entirely.
to Video Confidence Coach,
that project is somewhat related
So in turn, as you can imagine,
and what they do.
who love podcasting
well, I'd say bright people
and a community of bright,
helpful insights
and you'll get tools,
join the community
or if you're a professional,
So if you're new
for Victorian podcasters.
and email list
is a Facebook, LinkedIn
called Vic Podcasters
a project that I run
Say, for example,
to the Video Confidence Coach.
that are not necessarily related
and continue to do
that I have done in the past
But there are plenty of projects
with Video Confidence Coach.
is very much tied
but a lot of work that I do
not everything,
Yes, everything is very much,
and growing myself.
when it comes to my personal brand
personally struggled with
That is something that I have
not perfection.
and people relate to growth,
is ultimately a DIY construction project
because your personal brand
to evolve publicly
You can give yourself permission
if you're all about notion templates now.
that you love Pinterest mood boards
So you don't need to keep pretending
Number one, we're only a couple minutes in.
because we're on tangents.
So back to your personal brand
that you're associated with.
and potentially any brands
of trying to market your personal brand
in the wild, wild west
and shooting from the hip
compared to just trying your best
on actually how to do that
defined strategies
but there's a lot more
not easier,
Content's just usually a lot,
of communicating your message.
You can do this via other ways
you can do this via content.
So in turn,
who potentially need your help.
and there are so many people in the world
because we all have one life
to give them your full attention
when you are not able
but also to help and serve them
and your thoughts,
not just with your message
to be able to get people on board,
when you're not in the room,
but also being able to serve people
and it is a way of proceeding your reputation
your personal brand isn't a prison
Ultimately, when it comes to those things,
versus personal brand podcast about that.
my business brand
You can check out
and a personal brand are separate.
Now, of course, a business brand
if you are running a business.
I am asking you
If you are not doing content marketing,
you are doing some sort of content marketing.
like no matter how you market yourself,
like everything that comes out,
like billboards, like pamphlets,
websites, social media,
So we're talking like email lists,
Now that can be via content.
to solidify that personal brand.
the outward work that you do
your personal brand needs to be
So in turn,
to the clients that you wish to work with.
and to provide a solution
and to problem solve
You are here to serve
is a reflection of you.
your personal brand
because ultimately
and so is your personal brand
You are allowed to change
and getting bored when I say that.
who's been listening to me
My apologies for anyone
I realize it's a tick that I say.
So as you can imagine,
Oh, what a shock.
and video marketing.
with marketing strategy
is here to help you
Zoe Wood, the video confidence coach,
because of course,
behind what you do
making sure there's a little bit of strategy
when you flat out change your mind,
and making sure that it's not just
fresh as you grow
keeping your personal brand
personal brand,
So we're going to talk about
in a competitive market or industry.
especially if you are
that is supposed to grow with you
and new thoughts and new ideas
and when you form new opinions
to take changes
is to grow with you
and your personal brand
You are allowed to grow
and oat milk for the rest of your life.
when you're obsessed with minimalism
You're not meant to stay stuck in 2018
and change throughout your life.
and you can evolve
but it's something that you can develop
is kind of stuck with you for life
and your personal brand
Well, your reputation
it's not stuck with you for life.
Your personal brand isn't a tattoo,
Okay, let's go, let's go.
and refining it.
evolving your personal brand
We're going to talk about
I promise they're there.
they're there,
and I swear I'm drawing the connections,
and to be human is your personal brand
is to be human
to develop yourself
To evolve, to grow,
to people like your past clients.
or reaching out on social media
to be able to start producing videos
giving me that good feedback loop
I'm okay with this,
okay, I know what I'm doing,
to be able to be like,
it'll even give you even more robustness
are able to give you good feedback,
or customers that you sold to
if those clients that you've worked with
And hopefully,
and the clients that you can help.
in the work that you can produce
because you will have a bit more confidence
I can do this, I can do this
going, okay, this will be okay.
give yourself a little bit more of a hug
and give a little bit,
on your laurels
then you can rest a little bit more
that you actually do in your business,
to be able to produce the product or service
in your own skills
But once you have a bit more confident
involving that.
There is a different special type of fear
to show your business to the world.
or behind the camera
in front of the camera
as well as being nervous of getting yourself out there
I'm going to make
I could make like there's so many mistakes
I'm new at this,
you have both the nerves of
I completely understand
if you are new in your business,
because once, say for example,
I completely agree
despite nerves and stage fright.
and would definitely be a help
Being confident in your product service skill
See ya.

to chat with you.
and I'll be happy to schedule some time
and I'll be help
or give me some details
and let me know what you think
or email me at zoe at vcc.training
You feel free to send me a DM
and Zoe would have got you.
the video confidence coach
I have got you,
trying to manage both of these things,
running two full-time jobs
or if you just feel like you're running
And if you need help balancing both
are going to be useful for you.
because those two things
that opportunity to just keep growing
but ultimately giving yourself
I know that sounds a little bit guru-ish,
your dream team.
as you build your empire,
and let them support each other
starting with one, grow together
So when it comes to starting from scratch,
or honestly need your help.
the people who want
to be able to help and serve
you're still working together
may be very ego driven,
and some personal brands
And even though your personal brand
something bigger than yourself.
to be able to help you build
They're working together
They're tag teaming in your success.
They're not competing with each other.
It's bigger than you.
because again, it's outside of you.
to potential clients
to be able to make those promises
also provides that structure
And also the business brand
once people actually are on board.
Delivering the goods
are the people that pay you.
Again, the clients
solving the problem of those clients.
gives the results,
Ticks off the list,
Your business brand delivers the goods.
and past clients.
and even with your current
with your potential clients
with your audience,
Your personal brand builds the trust
Yeah, I know you don't like it.
It's honestly both.
Hi.
and send this to you later.
and I'm gonna put this in writing
And she's gonna hate me for this
was which one should I focus on?
ultimately had for me
So the question that Eliza
No.
you are able to make those choices separately.
So in turn,
are separate things.
and your personal brand
You can, because your business brand
And that's okay.
to eventually achieve.
to what you want
as a bit of a limiting business brand
you may be able to view
almost what something
that's outside of
that you want to do
and different areas of focus
may have different interests
your personal brand
that you're doing,
but for you and the work
and I am okay with that
are very much linked with me
and this personal brand
this brand because this business brand
I do not see myself selling
but to be honest,
when I'm over this shtick
maybe in say 20 or 30 years
to sell the video confidence coach
Personally, I do not intend
the driving force forever.
without you having to be
on camera 24-7,
without you having to be
but the plan is to grow
with a lot of work put into it
and as you can imagine
with clear messaging
with SOPs,
with staff,
with teams,
to stand on its own legs
And a business brand is built
that I want to serve.
and serve the people
but also helping me work
of some of my work
not just on the back end
I have people who work
I have people who work for me,
I have staff,
but I have contractors,
yes, that implies just me
the video confidence coach,
but to be able to say
you may be working in it
you may have started it,
You may have founded it,
that is bigger than you.
it is this thing
because again,
your business brand will keep running
take a nap, take a rest,
Is that if you want to ever step back,
of a business brand.
That's kind of the point
can scale without you.
that a business brand
you can imagine
or a lot louder to be flexible,
and a lot harder to pivot
because it's a lot bigger
So when it comes to business brands,
and that's the magic.
you are your niche
to your personal brand,
of themselves when it comes
Anyone who work as an extension
at least from their point of view.
you're doing the work,
but ultimately,
to back you up
the credibility and the resources
Yes, the company may have
Not the company.
to get the job done.
but people trust you
or are working with currently
that you were working with
with the business brand
And yes, it may have been tied
and that work ethic that you do.
your reflection of you
your reputation,
Your personal brand is still
in a creative way.
even people who may not feel themselves
coaches, creatives,
So it's great for freelancers,
you are dead.
And by that time,
until we're dead.
We are never personality complete
complete human beings.
because we are never
and evolve in the public eye
You can launch something new
You can change direction.
in your community.
and how you want to serve people
and your desires and your needs
and your wants
it is a reflection of you
because again,
with your personal brand
You can pivot faster
than a business brand.
or a lot more flexible
it is ultimately flexible
but when it comes to your personal brand,
this episode
I know I'm a little bit flip-floppy
And when going back,
what you promised.
and more about proving
It's less personality quirks
for that credibility.
it falls on the business
but at the end of the day,
Yes, you might be the one doing the work
and delivering results.
It's about consistency, clarity
It's about processes.
It's about systems.
to what you do.
because it brings the credibility
the collective of the business brand
You can trust us,
we've got this handled.
A strong business brand says
builds credibility.
so again, moving to the business brand,
a business brand,
builds connection,
While the personal brand
but that's not your personal brand.
and how you feel about things
It may have shaped some of your views
10 years ago, 15 years ago, 20 years ago.
that you may have represented
Not the big faceless company
is what people connect with.
and showing up even when it's messy
Storytelling, lived experience
People connect with people.
but it's not tied to you intrinsically.
for this company
is not, yes, you may have worked
taking your personal brand with you
in those corporate foundations and careers,
but for people who work
I've been doing this my entire life
Now, of course, I come from that line of work.
in small business.
who work not necessarily
or who are career people,
for people who work in corporations
This is also reflection
and move to a different company.
then pick that up
making sure that you're able to
So in turn,
that I am passionate about.
about the areas
to help solve your issues
as a person delivered to you
And hopefully who I am
and my values and my opinions.
and what I do
is a reflection of me
as you can imagine,
because my personal brand,
My personal brand will come with me
to different projects.
and then I move on
that I close down video confidence coach
it may come a time
to representing your brand,
and when it comes
that you represent
Not necessarily the brand
because they are connecting it through you.
into your world
Your personal brand invites people
and that type of work as of yet.
because I'm not a fan of AI images
in that but I use stock photos a lot
But I'm a little bit hypocritical
faceless logos and stock photos.
the world is kind of over
Especially now, as a collective community,
or how some of your clients may act.
despite how you may feel
We aren't very logical creatures
We seek connection.
in that way.
We are very emotionally driven
People follow people.
ultimately builds connections.
Your personal brand
It is separate to you.
but it is you.
may help build your business,
that your personal brand
So that is the same for you
And to help hopefully do that work.
to help get that point across.
as the founder of the Vic Podcasters
and I'm the one standing there
as the admin
but it's me doing the work
and time and energy,
because of resources
is helping me do that
Yes, video confidence coach
all that good stuff.
memberships, communities,
helpful connections,
with useful tools,
Victorian podcasters
where I help and serve
at the moment called Vic Podcasters,
like a project that I am running
say, for example,
outside of video confidence coach,
I could do projects
my own projects,
But at the end of the day,
working in the business.
because obviously I'm the one
Yes, it is closely related to me
of what my brand does.
and it is a visual aspect
can help people achieve this
because the business video confidence coach
but that is part of my business brand
I'm not a window frame,
And that's not me.
so it kind of frames what I do.
from a computer,
that look kind of like window frames
And I have these little window frames
and a couple of peach colors, as well.
and a little bit of pink
It is orange and blue
as my hair or my clothes.
but it's not the exact same blue
I have, yes, I have blue,
to my branding colors,
But when it comes
at the end is very blue.
and obviously my hair
my personal features
because it complements
was I wear blue a lot
a good example that I gave Eliza
Say, for example,
and more about what problem it solves.
what I had for breakfast
but it's less about
it can have flair,
and it can have personality,
Your brand is doing that work
getting them through their solution.
face-to-face working with them,
but you aren't the one
to be able to solve their problem,
or you send out to people
that you give to people
you may have products
that you work with,
you may have contractors
because you may have staff,
or working with your brand
With either you personally
from working.
that people can get
as well as the transformation
and everything that comes with it,
like services, products,
is more about what you offer,
Your business brand
but it doesn't have to be you.
you may be included in it,
may be founded by you,
and the subsequent business brand
It may hurt the business
is its own identity.
A business brand
what a brand is.
because we'll get into
that you may represent
over the brand
They remember you
and to help people.
We're here to serve
at the end of the day, folks.
that's what we're doing
Because ultimately,
with their solution.
how you can help people
that you can provide them,
or the service
what you stand for,
the work that you do,
But when people think about
and I don't know why.
I just like them
people say,
It's the vibe that makes
that in a sec.
brand, but I'll get to
this can work with a business
Now, of course,
is a reflection of you.
Your personal brand
Even unpopular ones.
your values, your opinions.
Think your story,
You are standing there.
in the center of the city.
or a big building
behind a sea of staff
You're not standing
You're not standing behind a logo.
standing there.
because you are the one
as a real human
and hopefully showing up
It builds trust, relatability,
your opinions.
your hot text,
your face, your voice,
front and center,
So, the personal brand is you
are the face of the brand.
you as the person
your face, your mannerisms,
when it comes to your personal brand,
we need to check in with
So, first of all,
hopefully.
or your voice,
without losing your mind
both shine for you
and how to make them
the difference between the two
So, we're going to be diving into
Wow, I'm contradicting myself here already.
I should say.
within your own personal brand,
within your own business,
within your own brand,
within your own project,
they need to be treated differently
and in turn,
different personalities
But they've got totally
And they sometimes share Instagram accounts.
Their parent being you.
usually corresponding by their parents.
They might wear matching jumpers sometimes,
So, they might hold hands.
but they're very, very closely related.
They're definitely their own people,
They're definitely separate people.
kind of like sisters.
and also they're related
They have the word brand in them
Now, of course, they are related.
are not the same thing.
and your business brand
your personal brand
this topic individually,
and when I need to address
But when I actually think about it
the whole umbrella thing.
when talking about
of mushing the two together
I do have a tendency
when I talk about a brand,
when it comes to
But when it comes to,
for every few counts.
thank you so much
If you have watched any of it,
in my content.
and I have a tendency
and personal branding
with video marketing
the work that you do
Zoe, the video confidence coach,
So, as you can imagine,
and asking this question of me.
for reaching out
but thank you so much
any of your details away, Eliza,
I'm not going to give
Now, of course,
to do with your business.
and a bunch of other things
regarding personal branding
who asked me this question
and you can contact me through there
or you can just check out my website
at vcc.training
to me at gday, g-d-a-y
who emailed it through
to Eliza for this question
So, thank you so much
to the podcast today.
So, welcome everyone
Of course I know the difference.
It's my shtick.
Of course I know the difference.
I'm kidding.
and find out together.
so I'm going to research
I don't know,
and a business brand?
between a personal brand
What is the difference
building person thingy.
Hey Zoe, you're a personal brand
four, five people.
and be seen by like three,
just to have them be gobbled up
before these social media giants
and putting into these feeds
and generated
getting posts created
that you're putting into
and, you know, money
the amount of time and energy
in all of the work that you're doing,
but I'm asking for you
to my questions,
any of these responses
Again, I'm not denying
before moving into a podcast area.
in what you do
to be a little bit more grounded
to focus on other areas of business
Again, give yourself that opportunity
in the back of your head.
it's always nice to have that idea
So, when it comes to a podcast,
depending on the day.
maybe even three,
which is like two seconds,
a Facebook post,
Compared to say, for example,
is very, very long.
and a podcast episode
The longevity of a podcast
over the next 5, 10, 15 years.
and leads into your business
help you gain customers
It's going to, you know,
what it needs to do.
It's going to do
It's going to be a limited series.
You're going to stop there.
Then that's okay.
It isn't for your business.
It isn't for your brand.
maybe podcasting isn't for you.
hate the experience,
and if you absolutely
Get to that 12
and podcast.
for community questions
Let's get going
while I get everything ready.
and some ads
some lovely quotes from me
you are going to enjoy
So, in the meantime,
I will definitely get it done for you.
Do not worry.
I will definitely get it done.
I will definitely get it done.
I will definitely get it done.
All right.
I know I need to do it.
that later today because
I'm going to be doing
So, I'm going to be putting that
I am just lazy.
that are in the pipeline.
I do have some more
at vcc.training.
you can check that out
But in the meantime,
it's going to happen.
Now, of course,
the video confidence coach.
when working with
and what you can achieve
achieved with people
and show what we've actually
But being able to showcase
how great I am.
obviously gushing about
some testimonials,
more details,
where you'll find out
but we'll see here we go
on the page
which you can't entirely see
these are four of my recent clients
So, scrolling down,
as we come to.
but we'll work on that
to something else
from past clients
the actual name of the page
I am looking to change
that you do that.
I highly recommend
And if you are the same,
No.
Have I done anything with them?
Yes.
from work I've done?
a lot of testimonials
Am I someone who has received
Yes.
who is really bad at this?
Now, am I someone
or the work that I've done.
or like my case testimonials
is showcasing past clients
definitely focused on this week
The one thing that I have
of my labor together.
and you're seeing the fruits
So, we are learning
but I am learning.
SEO is not my strong suit
as I get more information.
I am constantly updating things
So, the website as vcc.training,
I'm doing it daily at this point.
Yet again, it's almost like
We've updated the website.
for a little bit.
you will have to pause with me
and oh, before I do that,
doesn't fritz out
make sure my background
So, I am going to go take a drink,
please do reach out.
in any of that,
So, if you are interested at all
or idea for the Vic Podcasters podcast.
about pitching your podcast topic
to communicate with us
to actually allow you
and give that opportunity
with the members of the group
that I can communicate
because I want to make sure
pitch us your podcast topic
and this week we have
that episode in the podcast
So then we go through
to start my podcast?
what do I need to do
but a lot of questions about like,
not niggling questions
about all these very,
I've had a lot of people asking
which was your first podcast toolkit.
Last week we have episode 34,
It lists Zoe.
I've already gone through that.
Make sure to join out.
in the show notes below.
then make sure you check us out
as Australian Podcasters,
that you're in
who understand the situation
to actually have people
or having the opportunity
that you can meet in person eventually
of local business people
having a community
or someone who is a season pro
wanting to start a podcast
So, if you find yourself
for Victorian Podcasters.
LinkedIn and email newsletter
that I'm running on Facebook,
so the program membership
which is a program I am running,
And for the Vic Podcasters,
Let's keep going.
come on board.
For everyone else,
I don't need you in my business.
then bye.
does not sound good to you,
but if all of that stuff
We won't get too far into politics
with all the politics stuff.
I don't really agree
but I'm not really a leftist per se.
and you could call us leftists
and serve the Indigenous community
We obviously respect
as you can probably tell.
We are a women led business
as I am one myself.
We are alphabet mafia friendly
We are LGBTA mafia firm.
we are LGBTQIAA.
to the video confidence coach,
and when it comes
make your stance clear
So, making sure that you
to be hated by everyone.
and you're not going
going to be loved by everyone
because you are never
in your business
in what you stand for
that you are very clear
I talk about making sure
not just for fonts.
is stand for something
coming up on Sunday,
and this week,
That was released last week
in the podcast.
and I'll go through that
Is a godsend
and just linking people to it.
putting it on your website
Doing a quick video,
over and over again.
the same questions
like you have to answer
when it comes to feeling
and my potential clients
for my clients
This is a mantra that I use a ton
Link it.
Stop repeating yourself.
Last week, we had episode 59.
So, it's ready for you on a Monday.
on a Sunday.
So, that's released every week
podcast episodes.
regarding in the future
and I'll answer them
to put them down in the comments
or video marketing
about personal branding
that you have any questions
So, make sure
for the Unboring Your Brand podcast.
for this,
a couple of podcast episodes
but also be able to record
and available for the public,
to answer your questions freely
as an opportunity
I like to use this opportunity
So, essentially,
to this livestream.
the sister podcast
The Unboring Your Brand podcast,
sections together.
We'll go through these next
and don't worry.
You can copy
So, do not worry.
Yes, I do waffle on a bit at the start.
into the meat of today's session.
before we start getting
The last two things I want to check on
but I digress.
that I do that with,
Well, this is the livestream
for the past five minutes.
And I have been talking a lot
for updated information.
that you are there
So, please do make sure
on my email list.
behind the scenes sneaky bits
I like to provide
to keep up to date with those.
on the website bcc.training
or you can find out more
in the share notes below
which will be found
join the email list that I have,
So, if you are interested,
Do not recommend.
every single time.
and I have to kind of do things from scratch
when people are coming to me for services
which is not helpful
at the Video Confidence Coach,
to whatever people need from me
and tried to mold things
who has shot from the hip
because I am very much someone
but it's interesting to me
I know that may not sound interesting to you,
I will have a whole bunch of new products now.
by the end of May, start of June, 2025,
And by the looks of it,
it is currently the 16th of May, 2025.
As this is being recorded,
by the end of this month.
we are launching a slew of new products
that is actually on my list,
And of course, my last note
please do let me know.
So, if you know any details about that,
my fellow small business peeps throughout Australia.
I would love to be able to help and service
because I would love to be able to help.
please do reach out
So, if you know any details,
or who to even contact.
So, but I have no idea how to apply for it
and providing services on that front.
but also helping mentor
because it sounds interesting,
like being a part of the program
both in the like taking a part,
in both being a part of,
And it's something that I'm very much being interested
with their marketing activities.
to help them with their social marketing,
for small business owners
and service providers to be able to provide services
but there is an opportunity for mentors
I can't exactly remember what it's called,
the Small Business Innovation Fund Centre,
or anyone who is part of
If anyone is part of the Melbourne Innovation Centre
This is not on my notes.
And I'm doing a quick call out.
So, hello.
with the services and offerings I provide.
that I can give them what they need
to be able to make sure
I just make sure that I cover all my bases
But you can deal.
They hate me.
No, they do not.
They love me.
So I like to put in at least five to eight applications.
the application process now.
we're currently going through
What I like to do is I like to,
And we will be running an event that year.
I just know it's more than a decade.
Do not inquire any further.
for over a decade.
of the Geelong Small Business Festival
you will know that we have been part
For those who are fans or long-term associates,
is coming up in August of this year.
the Geelong Small Business Festival 2025
Speaking of money-making activities,
Hi.
that I'm money-making activities in the meantime.
I'm kind of focusing on the things
Because it's not a money-making activity,
I will get on to that tomorrow.
So thank you everyone for nominating me.
and hopefully maybe we can win an award or two.
giving them all the information
I just need to go through the process of
Have put me through the nomination process.
Thank you so much for nominating me.
Hello, everyone.
and my clients, past clients, future clients.
So as in people have,
So I've been nominated.
the deadline to finish the actual application.
From what I know,
for the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.
Thank you everyone who has nominated us
we have the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.
or upcoming things for the video confidence coach,
So if you want a chance to meet me
So looking at my calendar ahead.
So hello to everyone.
Sorry. We'll be covered on that front.
OHNS. Love it.
Woo!
So we're going to have fun doing that.
because most of us are service providers working from home.
We're having a fake OHNS meeting
Oh, it's going to be fun.
I'll see you at 3 p.m.
So hey, everyone.
Today, we're doing our HNS training today.
if you're in so in the comments.
for everyone who was in my course and say hi
I know what I'm doing in it like today
what the name of the course is.
It's because I keep forgetting to actually check
I'm aware I keep changing the name.
I'm aware for those who are following along,
My diploma in new business and business management structure.
I'll be graduating my online course for...
Also in me zoeing news,
we shall kept everything going for today's live stream.
But in the meantime,
Watch me eat my words later on today if it doesn't work.
All my plugins work.
I've updated everything.
I'm pretty sure I have fixed all the problems.
but we are back on and I have fixed all the problems.
So, best way to put it is the tech gremlins won that round,
but the actual like caption services that I was...
So I think the streaming service that I'm using was fine,
and like it managed to record most of it.
and I was looking back on the recording
And like it crashed three times
which is why I've updated it.
my live stream completely could put it,
So for those who were not here last week,
please do let me know, like last week.
So if there are any hiccups or any issues,
and trying to get this stuff worked out for you guys.
So not so good when it comes to my marketing machine
But that means I need to focus on them.
over the past two weeks, which is good.
And I've also acquired about two to three new clients
all that good stuff that comes with a brand and a service brand.
back-end automations,
Best way to put it is I've been working very hard on new products,
even though we are almost halfway through the second quarter.
So we still haven't figured out my quarterly focus,
for your reference and for mine.
just to like check-in with everything that I have going on
For weekly check-in,
And I forgot to press the button again.
First of all, this is my weekly check-in just to...
but we'll get onto that later.
very much like in marketing, anything does not say Sagnit,
Well, as you can imagine, your brand,
on how to refine your personal brand as you evolve.
And I will also go through a podcast recording
Thank you so much for that.
So that will be a community question that I will answer from Eliza.
So we're able to do that today.
and I kind of funneled them into themes.
because I did get a fair few questions over this past couple of months
and promoting a business brand,
what are the key differences between building a personal brand
So today we're going to be covering
for my Unboring Your Brand podcast.
in my community questions and my recording episodes
But to be honest, I spend most of my time answering questions
or any prompts that I have during the week.
I take this opportunity to answer your questions as they come up
And before we get into the meat of today's live stream,
Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
I stand with them in their fight against injustice.
and disadvantage due to our country's colonial past.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to face discrimination
in working towards a more equal future.
I stand with the traditional custodians of these lands
I pay my respects to their elders past and present.
the traditional custodians of the land on which I conduct my business today.
I would like to acknowledge and pay my respects to the Watarung people of the Kulin Nation,
But before I officially carry on with the rest of today's live stream,
I say that with a bit of skepticism, but we'll see how we go.
so you should be able to find me.
I'm pretty sure I added myself to all the search engines,
And you'll find me.
Not dot, not dot com, not dot A-U, not just dot training.
Yes, that is V-C-C, letters V-C-C dot training.
check everything out on our website, vcc.training.
products that we have lined up for Video Confidence Coach,
about our sister podcast, Unborrowing Your Brand, and any of events and
So if you want to find out more information about this live stream,
But I will get to you eventually, I promise, because that's me, baby.
And if I don't, then that means I'm probably overloaded and stressed.
I always do my best to respond to every single one of them as I get them.
I always catalog them.
Feel free to still comment your thoughts and your ideas below.
Hello.
