The Big Idea
Roy saw the struggle. Young, independent business owners were launching creative ventures with passion. But hitting walls when it came to money, structure, and knowing their financial obligations.
So we asked: Where are they already hanging out?
Answer: YouTube, podcasts, livestreams. Content that feels relatable, educational, and non-intimidating.
Together, we built a video-first financial literacy funnel that turned financial content into something people actually wanted to engage with.
Who is Business Management Geelong
I have been working with Roy Emmett, founder of Business Management Geelong and Humanising Money Matters, for over five years now (yep, long-term retainer pals!). Roy’s passion is making financial literacy less scary and more accessible. Especially for younger creatives and first-time business owners who’d rather face a room full of ring lights than their tax file number.
And let’s be honest. He’s very good at it.
Challenges We Navigated
Talking about money can be confronting. Especially when you’re new in business and Googling “Do I need an ABN?” at midnight.
The challenge was creating content that felt smart but safe. A space where creatives could learn, implement, and ask questions without shame.
That’s why together we leaned into FAQ content, smart video breakdowns, and a livestream strategy that used humour, honesty, and heart to build trust.
What We Built Together
Over the years, I’ve worked with Roy to:
🎯 Define his customer avatar (hello, under-35 founders in Victoria, Australia)
📹 Create a full FAQ-style video series answering real bookkeeping and money questions
🎧 Launch a livestream + podcast series to give his brand more personality and consistent presence
📩 Design lead magnets + email flows to warm up his audience and encourage connection
✂️ Produce short-form video content for social media to reinforce trust and visibility
Together we made sure every piece felt clear, empowering, and never condescending.
The Outcome
The video library Roy now has isn’t just informative. It’s evergreen. It continues to support, guide, and funnel leads from confused first-timers to confident clients.
Roy is positioned not just as a bookkeeper, but as an educator, ally, and approachable guide for young business owners navigating their money story.
His brand, Humanising Money Matters, truly lives up to the name.
Roy now has a resource library that keeps serving his audience, without burning him out or boring them.

What This Taught Me
Visibility isn’t just for influencers. It’s for educators, accountants, and quiet experts too.
When we put human-first content at the centre, we make big, complex topics easier to digest, and much easier to act on.
This project was a beautiful reminder that when we create content with empathy and strategy, we don’t just get clicks. We get community.
