You're listening to the VicPodcasters podcast, your bite-sized slice of podcasting know-how. We're here to connect Victorian podcasters. Whether you're just starting, seasoned pro, or stuck in the one day I will phase, stop dreaming and dive in.

    (0:31 - 0:42)

Join our email list or hop onto our Facebook and LinkedIn groups for updates, resources, and a supportive community. Because podcasting is better when we do it together. VicPodcasters is proudly produced on Wadawurrung land.

    (0:47 - 1:21)

Welcome audio adventurer, and thank you for indulging me in my lavish intros. If you're thinking about joining VicPodcasters, it's a great choice. It's a community, not a clique.

And whether you're in a garage or a studio, you're in the right place. If you are in the state of Victoria, Australia, and you're a creative, you're in the right place. When you're joining VicPodcasters, make sure to head to our website first step.

    (1:22 - 2:28)

Because all routes lead to our website vcc.training slash vic dash podcasters. Signing up to our email list for member-only goodies is always a good place to start. We have a lot of things that we aren't able to post on the LinkedIn or the Facebook group, so always check that out and sign up.

Promise I won't spam. I honestly only do it every two weeks and even then I get very lazy. But I always do my best to make sure that we have guest opportunities, events, grants, and it's all in there in the email newsletter.

And even stuff that isn't able to make it onto the social media platforms. Second step is to pick your pod space. So join our community groups.

Either join us on Facebook, and you can find it via vic.podcasters. Or you can join us on LinkedIn. Yes, LinkedIn has groups for the perfect pro-vibe crowd. You can find it just by typing in VicPodcasters and you'll find us in the group section.

Step three, as you can imagine, is to say good day. Make sure to introduce yourself in the group. Mention that you've heard us on the show and you want to join VicPodcasters to grow your podcasting knowledge, know-how, and maybe even community.

    (2:29 - 3:40)

Mention your show and your vibe and even if you haven't started just yet, make sure you mention that so we can give you some good advice and some good tools to get started. There are no wrong answers here and we welcome you to the VicPodcasters. VicPodcasters, I'm pausing your podcasting experience to let you know that I have my own podcast, the Unboring Your Brand podcast.

So if you have a personal brand or you are a small business owner who wants to leverage their personal brand without the boring stuff, follow me on Unboring Your Brand podcast. Check out the one by the Video Confidence Coach. Bye! But as I may imply when it comes to the VicPodcasters, is there a cost? And I'm going to tell you now, nope, nada, zilch.

VicPodcasters is free to join because audio dreams should not cost a fortune and in the future we don't see this changing. There may be opportunities for either learning groups or workshops or something like that that may require some payment being made, but most of the time those will be few and far between. There will be opportunities to do Q&A sessions and build your podcast knowledge without needing to pay out the nose for it.

    (3:41 - 4:34)

So what's the catch, as you can imagine? Why are you providing this opportunity, Zoe? This is Zoe here. It's honestly because, well, I want to be a decent human being, but when it comes to VicPodcasters, I want a community of like-minded people that actually are interested in podcasting and growing. And if you follow the group rules and share the podcast love and support each other, then it should be fine.

I want to be able to support other people going through their podcasting journeys. This isn't a spam club, it's a connection hub. If you want extras and you want more, we've got it.

We've got podcast audits, guest features, and grant updates. So if you are interested, make sure you sign up on our website to keep an eye on your inbox for workshop invites and fun bonuses. And there is also the opportunity for other things that we've got going down the pipeline that I don't even know just yet.

    (4:35 - 5:30)

It's like a podcast lucky dip, but it's actually useful for your journey. So as I mentioned, I am Zoe Wood, the Video Confidence Coach. I offer podcasting services both from top to tail, nose to feet when it comes to podcasting, and I really enjoy it.

I listen and record podcasts all the time. So if you are interested in joining VicPodcasters or you're interested in paying me to help you out or give you some strategic advice, feel free to let me know and reach out to me at vcc.training. I want to help you hit record with more confidence and less chaos. VicPodcasters is your all access pass to podcasting support in Victoria.

There's no fees, no fuss, just resources, connections, and a whole lot of community love. Make sure to check out that website again, vcc.training slash vic dash podcasters to get started today. I look forward to seeing you around.

    (5:34 - 6:08)

That's a wrap. Remember, we're here every week to share quick tips, updates, and the occasional bad joke. Feeling inspired? Good.

Now hit record or go to the show notes of this episode for a backstage past experience of the Victorian podcasting scene. VicPodcasters would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians on the land on which we work, live, and play. We pay our respects to their elders past and present.

We stand with the traditional custodians of these lands in working towards a more equal future. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land. And remember, podcasting doesn't have to be a solo gig.
